Dodge City - Elfrieda Bowers, 93, passed away on May 26, 2023 in Dodge City.  She and her identical twin sister, Elda (Redinger) were born on September 16, 1929 to Ferdinand and Elizabeth Kreger.

She was married on December 3, 1950 to Renner Bowers and together they were proud members of the Dodge City community for the majority of their lives. Elfrieda was a graduate of Dodge City High School, worked for Centel Electric for a number of years and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and the Western Plains Medical Complex Auxiliary where she was a Pink Lady for over twenty years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Renner; sister, Elda; and her parents. Survivors include her son, Kent and his wife Susan Sweeney of Kansas City, Missouri and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you goes out to her many dear friends, especially Mary Bura, Cathy Gemaehlich, as well as Pastor Randall Jahnke of Holy Cross.

Funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Dodge City on Thursday, June  1, 2023 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Randall Jahnke presiding.  Burial will follow at Scroggins Mausoleum in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Prairie or Holy Cross Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
