Dodge City - Elfriede M. Whiteside, 91, died November 5, 2022 at St. Catherine Hospital in Dodge City. She was born on January 15, 1931 in Vienna, Austria the daughter of John and Emily (Hummer) Fruehbauer.

She married Rex Kenneth Holbrook Whiteside on March 26, 1949 in Vienna, Austria, he preceded her in death on January 18, 2017. Mrs. Whiteside loved spending time with her family and volunteering at Abundant Life Family Church. Elfriede loved to travel, as well, in her spare time.

She was a member of the Abundant Life Family Church of Dodge City.

She is survived by sister-in-law Nadine Hales,one cousin Friederike Achleither; daughter Susan and husband Michael Hedgpeth; sons Dr. Gerald Whiteside and Significant Other Susan Stuart,Rex Kenneth Whiteside Jr. and wife Cheri; grandchildren Kayla Chiddix and husband Chuck, Jeremy Whiteside and wife Nicole, Justin Whiteside and wife Jennifer; Kirstin Fleming and husband Brandon; Aarin Hedgpeth; step granddaughters; Jennifer, Erika, Hawley and Heather Naylor and husband Andrew; great grandchildren Will and Caroline, Jesse and Jamison, Mathew and Jensen, Brantley, Bryson, Grayson and Ryland; step great grandchildren Zyan, Lilli, Haley and Ryan.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Emily Fruehbauer, her father and mother-in-law Walter and Mary Whiteside and one great grandson Jackson Whiteside.

Memorial service will be held at Abundant Life Family Church on Thursday November 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Dr. Jim Ames and pastor Lydia Ames presiding.
