Jetmore – Elizabeth "Liz" Hornung, 76, died September 17, 2024 at the Hodgeman County Health Center in Jetmore, Kansas. She was born on January 10, 1948 at Spearville, Kansas the daughter of Andrew James and Elsie Elnora (Allen) Hornung.

She attended and graduated from Spearville High School in 1966. Ms. Hornung later attended and graduated from Wichita Business College. She was offered a position with Southwest Bell Telephone in Corpus Christi, Texas where she worked until her retirement in 2008. She then returned home to Spearville where she lived with her sister until moving into Hodgeman County Health Center in 2019.

She was very passionate about animals and her friends said that she preferred animals over people. She enjoyed throwing darts and playing softball in her spare time.

She is survived by her sister Roberta Louise Kiehl of Spearville and several nieces and nephews and many good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew James Hornung and Elsie Elnora (Allen) Hornung, two brothers Charles Michael Hornung and Larry James Hornung and one infant sister Rose Marie Hornung.
