Satanta - Elizabeth Ann Oliver, 74, died May 26, 2014 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born on September 1, 1939 in Onaga, the daughter of Ernest and Helen (Schumeman) Hayward.
Elizabeth was raised in a loving and lively family with five siblings. She graduated from Basehor High School in 1957. On January 6, 1968, she married Russell Oliver in Liberty, Missouri. He survives. In 1972, the couple moved to Holcomb from Kansas City. They remained there until 1975 when they returned to the Oliver family farm. Elizabeth was engaged in all aspects of her children's lives, attending all of their activities and events. After her children finished school, she began working as a traveling CNA for various places in the area. Elizabeth had a fond enjoyment for sewing, crafts, oceans and sharing her varied experiences with her many friends. Her greatest passion was her family.
She was a member of the Pleasant Prairie Church of God of Satanta and was very active in all church functions, lending a hand whenever needed.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Russell Oliver of Satanta; one daughter, Ann Davis and husband Chuck of Long Beach, California; two sons, Vance Oliver and wife Ashley of Charleston, Illinois and Greg Oliver and wife Jenny of Roswell, New Mexico; two sisters, Marjorie Novich and husband Robert and Helen Patricia Cline both of Bonner Springs; four grandchildren, Christopher Oliver of Holcomb, Tyler Oliver of Ulysses, Erin Oliver and Evan Oliver both of Charleston, Illinois; and one great granddaughter, Tiffany JoAnn Oliver of Holcomb. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Louis Hayward and Hugh Hayward; and one sister, Frances Sharp.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Pleasant Prairie Church of God, rural Satanta, on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Danny Jackson presiding. Burial will follow at Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
