Obituary

Elizabeth Zacharias Peters, 37, died May 23, 2025 at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado.  She was born on February 15, 1988 at Migel Auza, Zacatecas, Mexico, the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Zacharias) Loewen.

Liz spent her early childhood in Mexico before moving to the United States.  Their family moved to Meade, where Liz attended school and then later moved to Scott City.  She met the love of her life, Frank Peters, in the summer of 2008. She lived in Copeland at that time and did what she loved most, cooking in small town café. Liz's faith was very important to her and she was baptized in 2010. Frank and Liz were united in marriage on July 11, 2010 in Montezuma.

The couple spent their early married years in Montezuma.  They briefly moved to Scott City before returning to Copeland, where they made their home.  Liz and Frank were blessed with their son, Conner, and their greatest adventure began.

Liz enjoyed cooking and baking and recently started working in a bakery. She enjoyed hiking, especially around lakes, watching her husband and son fish, going to the women's Bible study, spending time with her husband and family, and making special memories with her son, Conner. Whether they were doing science experiments, playing at the park with her son, nieces and nephews, or baking together and letting him lick the spoon; she always made time for him. While she loved watching sunsets, she also loved a cloudy, drizzling day and would be the ray of sunshine on those days. She reminded everyone around her to slow down and enjoy the moment.

She is survived by her husband Frank of Copeland; son, Conner of Copeland; her parents, Jacob and Anna Loewen of Seminole, Texas; four brothers, Abe Loewen and wife Lena of Canada, John Loewen and wife, Neda of Canada, Jacob Loewen of Ensign, and Peter Loewen of Copeland; three sisters, Anna Wieler and husband Peter of Canada, Tina Neufeld and husband Corny of Canada, Margarita Klassen and husband Jason of Texas, and Susanna Peters and husband Peter of Copeland; father and mother-in-law, Jacob and Katharina Peters of Montezuma; sister-in-law, Susie of Colorado, and her loving nieces, nephews, and many friends.
