Dodge City - Elsie Anna Zimmer, 86, died September 27, 2011 at The Maples at Har-Ber Meadows, Springdale, Arkansas. She was born on December 22, 1924 in Dodge City, daughter of Albert H. and Mary D. (Autrey) Eis. Elsie graduated from Dodge City Senior High School and then attended Dodge City Community College.

On April 17, 1949 she married Clarence Marion Zimmer in Dodge City. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1981. Elsie was a homemaker and was a volunteer for several charities. Elsie was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother and aunt.

She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church where she received recognition from the Stephen Ministry of the church and was a member of the Tri Phi Class.

Elsie is survived by two sons and their spouses, Donald W. and Kathy Zimmer of Lawrence and Michael A. and Sonya Zimmer of Fayetteville, Arkansas; a sister Alma Fox of Willets, California; and two grandchildren, Dylan M. and David M. Zimmer both of Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son Steven Riley Zimmer.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Dick Robbins officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. There will be no visitation and the casket will remain closed. Memorials are suggested to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Rd., Springdale, Arkansas, 72762 in care of the funeral home.
