Emiko Gumescheimer passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita. She was born in Fukuoka City, Japan, the daughter of Isaeuro Mitsuyasu and Kunie Choh.
Emiko married James Gumescheimer on April 3, 1969 in Tokyo, Japan. She came to the United States in 1970. They lived in Chula Vista, California, moving to Bazine, Kansas in 1987 and then to Cimarron in 1995. She enjoyed sewing, cooking Japanese food for family and friends, and making everyone around her smile.
She attended Valleyview Bible Church of Cimarron.
Survivors include her husband, James Gumescheimer of Cimarron, one daughter, Susan Ruettimann and husband Dan of Shawnee; three sisters, Ayako Noda and husband Teruo of Kitakyushu City, Japan, Sadako Takemura and husband Tetsuo of Fukuoka City, Japan, and Harumi Haga and husband Hisashi of Fukuoka City, Japan. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Memorial service will be held at Valleyview Bible Church on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Darren Rempel presiding. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
