ERNESTINE MILLER
Cimarron - Ernestine O'Bleness Miller, 92, died July 11, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City. She was born on September 16, 1918 in Alpena, Arkansas the daughter of Clarence and Mary Elizabeth (Rex) Ferguson.
Ernestine grew up in Green Forest, Arkansas. At the age of 12, she moved to Ashland and attended school there. She first married John Richard O'Bleness and five children were born to this union. She later married Carl Dean Miller on October 15, 1946 in Barryville, Arkansas. Three children were born to this union. After marriage they moved to the family farm south of Ingalls where they farmed and ranched. They moved into Cimarron in 1959. He preceded her in death on September 18, 2004.
She was a member of the Cimarron Church of the Nazarene of Cimarron.
Mrs. Miller is survived by three daughters, Carla Unruh and husband Bob of Cimarron, Marileen Kidder and husband Albert of Plains, and Nora Sauer and husband Dwight of Sterling; five sons, Dan Miller and wife Kathy of Cimarron, Arlen Miller of Cimarron, James O'Bleness and wife Marcia of Copeland, Gayle O'Bleness and wife Glenda of Alva, Oklahoma, and Johnny O'Bleness of Wayne, Michigan; 21 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amber Unruh Becker; and five brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be held at the Cimarron Church of the Nazarene on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Randall S. Harrell presiding. Burial will follow at Cimarron Cemetery in Cimarron. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Good Samaritan Society or Cimarron Church of the Nazarene in care of Swaim Funeral Home-1901 Sixth Ave-Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
