Dodge City - Esther M. Andra, 95, a loving wife, mother and grandmother died November 8, 2018 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. She was born on February 9, 1923 in rural Ford County the daughter of Ben and Helen (Schrek) Indiek.
She married Vincent J. Andra on August 28, 1946 at Windthorst, he preceded her in death on February 2, 1997. After their marriage they lived in Southwest Kansas and resided in Dodge City since 1959. Esther loved playing Bridge and visiting with family and friends. She enjoyed sitting visitations for Swaim Funeral Home and keeping in touch with the community.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Altar Society and D of I.
She is survived by two daughters Judy Werner and husband Mel of Wichita; Theresa Cook and husband Garyof Beaverton, Oregon; two sons Kenneth Andra and wife Shellie of Kansas City, Kansas; Dan Andra of Dodge City; three brothers John Indiek, Tony Indiek and Vic Indiek. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters Delphine Peintner, Clarine Durler and Berna Mae Donemeyer.
Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Tuesday November 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A Vigil service will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 7:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Friendship Feast or Prairie Home Health in care of the funeral home.
