Hutchinson - Esther  Marie Hindman, 94, died September 4, 2017 at St. Lukes Hospital in Marion, Kansas.  She was born on September 28, 1922  in rural Meade County, Kansas the daughter of  John and  Grace (Tacket) Powell.

She married Harvey Richard Hindman on May 12, 1941 at her home south of Fowler, Kansas he preceded her in death on September 23, 1964. Mrs. Hindman loved reading books and doing crossword puzzles and sewing in her spare time.

She was a charter member of the United Presbyterian Church of Minneola.

She is survived by her son Kenneth Hindman of Hutchinson; one daughter Mary Irene Whittman of Hutchinson; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter Dortha Marie Kliesen and one brother James Powell.

Funeral service will be held at the Minneola Community Church in Minneola, Kansas on Friday September 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Shawn Leach presiding. Burial will follow at Appleton Township Cemetery in Minneola. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
