Sublette - Eva Lee Stude, 85, died November 13, 2012 at Satanta Long Term Care, Satanta. She was born on the family farm on January 7, 1927 east Montezuma, the daughter of Varda and Lena (Brown) Yeager.

Eva Lee attended school in Montezuma up to her senior year. She then attended Copeland High School where she graduated in 1944. On November 26, 1944, she married Frank Stude in Copeland. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1994. They made their home on the farm near Copeland before moving to Sublette in August of 1973. Eva Lee graduated from St. Mary's of the Plains College with a degree in Music Education. She taught music at Copeland for many years. Mrs. Stude then taught preschool in Sublette for several years and later taught music at Calvary Christian School also in Sublette. Eva Lee also taught private music lessons for many years.

Mrs. Stude was a member of the Sublette Christian Church where she was very involved in church activities including teaching Sunday school, VBS, and church camp. She was the church organist for many years. Eva Lee was also a former member of the Goodland Methodist Church and the Atomera Club of Copeland.

Eva Lee is survived by a son, Glen Stude and wife Patty of Copeland; a daughter, Peggy Winter and husband Ron of Sublette; a sister, Vada Jo Allen of Sublette; four grandchildren, Beau Stude of Eudora, Kacie Meairs and husband Daniel of Johnson, Chanda Mendoza and husband Johnny of Wichita, and Blaine Stude and wife Havilah of Copeland; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Frank, Eva Lee is preceded in death by her parents and a great granddaughter, Adriana Mendoza.

Funeral service will be held at Sublette Christian Church on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 10:30 AM with Pastor David Erwin presiding. Burial will follow at Copeland Cemetery in Copeland. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Sublette on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Alpha Christian Children's Home in care of the funeral home.
