Obituary

Dodge City - Everett E.Weiss, 97, died February 1, 2021 at Brookdale Senior Living in Dodge City.  He was born on December 10, 1923 at Rural Ford County, Kansas the son of William and Lucy (Wetzel) Weiss.

He married Phyllis V. Maskus on December 1, 1946 at St. Michaels Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on July 14, 2017. Mr. Weiss served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. His service to our country took him to the south Pacific where he served in the Philippines, Okinawa and the occupation of Japan. Mr. Weiss was a farmer and stockman his entire life before retiring.

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

He is survived by two sons Alan Weiss and wife Janice of Viola, Kansas; Gregory Weiss of Manitou Springs, Colorado and one sister Irene Maskus of Jetmore.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Donald Weiss.

Funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Friday February  5, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Stanley Palmer presiding.  Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
