SUBLETTE - Flossie Wood, 91, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, October 7, 2014. She was born on January 9, 1923 in Garber, Oklahoma to parents George and Elizabeth (Nichols) Lohfink.

Her family moved to Sublette during her early childhood. She graduated from Sublette High School. In high school, Flossie met James Oran Wood of Copeland and after both graduated from high school, they were married on September 12, 1940. The marriage lasted until Oran passed away on February 29, 2008, a great marriage of 67 plus years.

To that marriage were born five boys: James Wood and wife Kathy of Pratt, Richard Wood and wife Donna of Wichita, Loran Wood of Nickerson, Dale Wood and wife Helen of Salina, and Bruce Wood of Hardesty. She is also survived by two brothers, Leroy Lohfink and wife Betty and John Lohfink; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren; as well as other friends and relatives. Flossie was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband as well as her older sister, Matilda Wheeler, a sister-in-law, Betty Lohfink, and a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Wood.

All will miss her presence in this world. We take comfort in the fact that she knew the Lord in this life and is rejoicing with Jesus today. Flossie was fulfilled in her roles as wife and mother as she poured her time and energy into supporting her husband, raising her children and grandchildren, helping others in any way she could and serving her Lord with gladness of heart.

Funeral service will be held at Sublette Christian Church on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 1:30 PM with Pastor David Erwin presiding. Burial will follow at Haskell County Cemetery in Sublette. There will be no public visitation. Memorials are suggested to Sublette Christian Church or Deseret Health & Rehab at Pratt, LLC in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel, Sublette.
