CIMARRON - Frances M. Davis, 85, died Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City. She was born on December 23, 1924 at Burdick the daughter of Rev. Carl Anderson and Sene (Nelson) Julius.

Frances graduated from Bethany College where she received her bachelor of science. She taught school in Ingalls and Montezuma before becoming a homemaker and raising her family. Frances married Lyle Davis on August 27, 1949 at Lindsborg. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2007.

She was a member of the Cimarron United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the 20th Century Club.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Pamela J. Davis-Vaughn and husband Darryl of Painted Post, New York; two sons, Kevin M. Davis and wife Jeanette of Castle Rock, Colorado and Douglas C. Davis and wife Janell of Derby; two sisters, Dr. Mildred Julius-Stevens of Garnett and Martha Bergeson of Amherst, Massachusetts; and five grandchildren, Andrew Scott, Emily Anne, Dorothy Miriam, Lindsey Michelle and Kaitlyn Nicole. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Carl Julius and sister, Ruth Andersson.

Funeral service will be held at the Cimarron United Methodist Church on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Larry Danforth presiding. Burial will follow at the Cimarron Cemetery in Cimarron. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Cimarron on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from Noon to 8:00 PM.
