Dodge City – Francis V. Bittle, 81, died October 19, 2018 at Manor of the Plains in Dodge City. He was born on October 26, 1936 at Victoria, Kansas the son of Frank and Helen (Weigel) Bittle.
He married Donna Wells on December 29, 1958, she survives. He served his country in the Army Reserves from 1954 until 1963. Mr. Bittle retired from the Ford County Feed Yard after 30 years of service. He loved spending time with his family and was always happy to go fishing and camping.
He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and a life member of the Knights of Columbus all of Dodge City.
He is survived by his wife Donna Bittle; one daughter Brenda Andrews; three sons Todd Bittle; Nicholas Bittle and wife Barbara and Douglas Bittle and wife Rhonda. He is also survived by one sister Norma Berens and eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Tuesday October 23, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Aneesh Parappanattu presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 12:00 to 7:00 PM. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, October 22, 2018 at Swaim Funeral Chapel Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Prairie in care of the funeral home.
