FRANCISCO RAMIREZ
Dodge City - Francisco Ramirez, 64, died February 27, 2015 at Via Christi Hospital, St. Francis, Wichita, Kansas. He was born on September 16, 1950 at Durango, Mexico, the son of Francisco and Maria De Jesus Najera.
He came to the United States as a young man from Durango, Mexico, and lived in Wichita. He had been a Dodge City resident for thirty two years. He married Bertha Aguilar on January 1, 1971 in Durango, Mexico. She survives. Mr. Ramirez worked for several years in the beef packing industry in Dodge City. He later operated a small farm near Dodge City.
He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City.
Survivors include his wife Bertha Ramirez, Dodge City, a son Francisco Ramirez and wife Ofelia, Dodge City, a daughter, Yolanda Ramirez and Jose Alfredo, Dodge City, brothers, Bernardo Ramirez, Greeley, Colorado; Manuel, Efren, and Jesus Ramirez, all of Durango, Mexico; sister, Beatris Ramirez, Durango, Mexico, half-sisters, Maria, Consuelo, and Ofelia Ramirez, and half-brothers Rodrigo, and Acasio Ramirez, and two grandchildren.
Vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Cathedral of Our Lady Of Guadalupe, Dodge City. The funeral mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 12:00 PM til 5:00 PM. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
