DODGE CITY - Frank V. Fromm, 86, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 10, 2010 in Dodge City. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Frank was born on August 30, 1923 to George and Rena (Coleman) Fromm on a farm in Hodgeman County, 14 miles northwest of Dodge City. He married Dorothy Foos, his wife of 64 years on January 5, 1946 in Sharon Springs, Kansas. Together they raised two children.

Frank was a hard-working family man. He held jobs as a school custodian in the Dodge City public schools, a delivery man for Kline's Dairy and he retired in 1985 from Peoples Natural Gas after more than two decades with the company.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of the home; a daughter Judy Rumsey of Dodge City; a son Dale and his wife Denise (Jensen) Fromm of Newton; six grandchildren: Lisa (Rumsey) and husband Bill Wuggazer of Manhattan, Darin Rumsey and wife Sylvia of Ft. Morgan, Colorado, Julia Fromm of Wichita, Tyler Fromm of Wichita, Jared Fromm of Newton, Andrew Dupree and wife Megan of Joplin, Missouri; seven great grandchildren, Megan, Emily, Holly, Tabor, Anthony, Brendan and Audry.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings who passed in their infancy and his son-in-law, Bill Rumsey.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Rev. Randall Jahnke officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Lutheran Cemetery in Hodgeman County. Visitation will be on Monday, April 12, 2010 from Noon to 8:00 P.M. at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City. Memorial funds have been established in Frank's name through Hospice of The Prairie and the Holy Cross Lutheran Church Building Fund both in care of the funeral home.
