Cimarron - George Brooks, 73, died April 12, 2014 at The Shepherd's Center in Cimarron. He was born on June 28, 1940 in San Diego, California, the son of Edwin Frank and Mildred Brooks.

George graduated from Pacific Beach High School in San Diego. He worked as a contractor in the construction industry in the San Diego area. In June of 2013, he moved to his daughter's home in Cimarron. George enjoyed landscaping and restoring old cars.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

George is survived by two daughters, Celeste Lacy and husband Lance of Cimarron and Renee Sherrill and husband Dave of Carlsbad, California; and five grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Brooks.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date in California. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place.
