Obituary

DODGE CITY - Gerald Everette Plotner was called home to be with his Lord on January 24, 2021 at the Kansas Soldier Home at Ft Dodge. He was born July 10, 1933 to Arthur and Margretha "Helen" (Degenhart) Plotner in Thayer, Kansas.

Gerald (Jerry) was an avid fisherman and enjoyed sharing coffee with his many friends and family. He graduated from Pierceville high School in Pierceville. He served in Seoul, South Korea during the Korean war. Jerry was employed in Civil Service at Perrin Air Force Base in Dennison, Texas and Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was also employed at Circle Drive Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado which he attended for almost 20 years.

He is survived by his second wife, Carolyn; children: step daughter, Polly Stewart of Texas, William Plotner, Sandra Plotner, stepson, Frank Placek, step daughter Cindisue Schreck of Colorado; and grandson: Conor McCarthy of Missouri. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Bob) Plotner & Sheryl of Ingalls and many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Peggy Hamilton, and 2 siblings, Don Plotner and Evelyn Plotner Woodall. No services are planned at this time.
