GERALD WOODS
Cimarron - Gerald Woods, 77, died Monday June 27, 2011 at his residence in Cimarron after a short battle of cancer. He was born on June 28, 1933 at Kalvesta the son of Rufus M. Woods, Sr. and Ruby Eleanor (Friedlund) Woods.
He grew up in Kalvesta and attended schools there. He married Martha Lee Paine and they later divorced. He was a truck driver.
Mr. Woods is survived by two sons, John and Phyllis Woods of Medicne Lodge and Mike and Laura Woods of Lombard, Illinois; three daughters, Vicki Seals of Cimarron, Debbie and Tano Garcia of Dodge City and Pam and Gary Everett of Jasper, Texas; four brothers, Leonard Woods of Dodge City, Rufus Woods, Jr. of Cimarron, Wilford Woods of Kalvesta and Ben Woods of Cimarron; three sisters, Vivian Bridgwater of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Linda Rankin of Dodge City and Glenda O'Bleness of Alva, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Jennifer Renee Woods, his second wife, Donna Marie Carpenter, two brothers, Virgil and Larry Lee Woods and a granddaughter Dallas Sabrina Woods.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of The Prairie in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1057, Cimarron, Kansas 67835. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
