Dodge City - Gladys Marie (VanNahmen) Osborne, 87, passed away July 20, 2017 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Dodge City, KS.  She was born on January 5, 1930 at Offerle, KS, the daughter of Theo and Mary (Riedlinger) VanNahmen. She was a graduate of Offerle High School. On Decemeber 2, 1950 she married Eldon Osborne at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Offerle, KS and was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother.

Gladys was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Altar Society and The Daughters of Isabella.  She enjoyed many activities including Oktoberfest Celebrations, along with attending polka dances with friends.

Survivors include: Husband, Eldon. Children: Susan (Doug) Torline, Wichita, KS, Sandra (Bryan) Krier, Wichita, KS, Steven (Gayle), Gladstone, MO, Sheila (Derek) Seacat, Dodge City, KS, Mike (Pam), Rochester, MN; one brother, Ralph (Ann) VanNahmen, Kinsley, KS; 21 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Stanley, siblings Martha Daubert, Agatha Gunkel, Leroy VanNahmen and John VanNahmen.

Vigil Service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 7:00 PM.  Funeral mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM with Father Wesley Schawe presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to the Daughters of Isabella Saint Rita Circle #210 or Our Lady of Guadalupe Altar Society in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
