Obituary

Glen Edward Moore, 85, died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Western Plains Medical Complex at Dodge City, KS. He was born on March 12, 1925 at Burden, the son of Marion Savage and Lela Mildred (Gardner) Moore.

Glen graduated from Kansas State University. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On August 24, 1947, he married Roberta Mullikin at Emporia. They lived in Central City, Nebraska and then moved to Eureka. In 1963, they moved to Dodge City. Mr. Moore was co-owner of S & M Construction until retiring in 1998. He had been a resident of Good Samaritan for the past five years.

Mr. Moore was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W., and Charles Earnest Scott Post #47 American Legion all of Dodge City.

Glen is survived by his wife, Roberta Moore of Dodge City; two sons, Terry Moore and wife Carol of St. George and Larry Moore and wife Cindy of Dodge City; one sister, Juanita Lazelle and husband Jim of Arkansas City; five grandchildren, Eric Moore and wife Michelle of Great Bend, Joshua Kinder and wife Sarah of Manhattan, Kinsey Griffin and husband Jason of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, Ian Moore and wife Miranda of Manhattan, and Dustin Moore of Manhattan, and seven great grandchildren . He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Kirk Larson presiding. Burial will be Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Sunday, December 26, 2010 from noon to 6:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the Good Samaritan Center or to the Alzheimers Foundation in care of the funeral home.
