Obituary

Dodge City - Glenn E. Mauch, 95, died February 14, 2014 at Minneola District Hospital, Minneola. He was born on February 26, 1918 at Ness City the son of Ed and Ethel (Kanaga) Mauch.

He married Edith Van Winkel on May 4, 1940 in Wichita, she preceded him in death on March 15, 2002. Mr. Mauch worked as a master mechanic for George Nielsen Motor Company, Dodge City Coop Service Station, and later in life for Lopp Motors. He proudly served his country during World War II in the European Theater and the Pacific Theater, where he received the Bronze Star Medal for saving a wounded officers life while under heavy enemy fire.

He was a member of the Howard Gotschall V.F.W. Post #1714.

He is survived by a son, Jon Mauch of Grand Junction, Colorado; three sisters, Etheled "Sally" Marshall of Minneola, Verda McCune of Meade, and Vada Amy of Minneola; and a brother, Buzz Mauch of Spokane, Washington. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Evans; one son, Steve Mauch; twin babies, Ellen and Alan Mauch; and two brothers, Clair Mauch and Hollis Mauch.

Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Inurnment with full military rites by Howard Gotschall V.F.W. Post #1714 and the KSARNG Military Honors will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Howard Gotschall V.F.W. Post #1714 in care of the funeral home.
