DODGE CITY - Golda Marion (Mary Ann) Clanton Harms, 74, died October 20, 2013 at her home in Dodge City. She was born on March 25, 1939 at Vici, Oklahoma the daughter of Thomas Edward and Alta Wilda (Nickell) Clanton. The family moved to Dodge City in 1942 and she attended Dodge City schools.
Mary Ann married Herold Eugene Harms on June 29, 1956 in Dodge City. She was a homemaker and worked part time in janitorial services while raising her children with her husband Herold. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed dancing on Saturday evenings with her friends. Mary Ann loved her family and adored all her grandchildren.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband Herold of the home, one son Terry Harms, Dodge City; four daughters, Sherry Harms of Dodge City and Kim Williamson and husband Mike of Dodge City, Brenda Patton, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Angela Solis and husband Ricardo of Littleton, Colorado; ten grandchildren, Billy Hixon, Ryan Hixon, Amy Kreger and husband Brandon, Jordan Williamson, Breckyn Williamson, Nicolas Harms and Alexandra Harms all of Dodge City, Joseph Patton and Andrew Patton, Knoxville, Tennessee, Natalia Solis and her soon to arrive baby brother of Littleton, Colorado. She had ten great grandchildren, Daisha Price, Hunter, Hayden and Abby Hixon, Sierra Isenbart, Jasper, Cian and Xander Kreger, Skylar Hixon and Brooklyn Rebein; two brothers, Raymond and Roy Clanton and a sister Faye (Susie) Pfaff.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Frederick, William, Thomas and Charles Clanton and two sisters, Hester (Ellen) Davidson and Alta (Sookie) Waggoner.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Randall Jahnke presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from Noon to 8:00 P.M.. Memorials are suggested to Mary Ann Harms Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
