Dodge City - Gonzalo Briones Reyes, 76, died July 28, 2021 at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita, Kansas.  He was born on June 17, 1945 at Ciudad Anahuac, Nuevo Leon, Mexico the son of Jose de la Cruz Reyes and Priciliana (Briones) Reyes.

He married Elia Ortega on December 17, 1971 in Clovis, New Mexico, she survives. He loved spending time with his family and very committed to preaching the word of God at his church. Mr. Reyes loved to go fishing, and watching boxing, and baseball especially his New York Yankees and working on wood working projects as well in his spare time.

He was a member of the Church of God of the First Born in Dodge City.

He is survived by his wife Elia of the home; two daughters Christina Salazar and husband Juan of Dodge City; Crestal Teran and husband Alfredo of Texas; one son Kristian Reyes of Dodge City. He is also survived by two brothers and six sisters and one local sister Guadalupe Reyes of Larned, Kansas.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Rosa Elia and one brother Agustine Reyes.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Wednesday August  4, 2021 at 2:00 PM with John Janas presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to Church of God of the First Born in care of the funeral home.
