HARRIET VIOLET VANG
Ensign - Harriet Violet Vang, 79, died September 3, 2014 at her residence in Ensign. She was born on July 11, 1935 at Pueblo, CO the daughter of Harry and Vera (Baldwin) Pickerel.
She married Jerry Vang in 1954 in Colorado Springs, CO. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2007. After their marriage they lived in Pueblo, CO until moving to Kansas in 1960. Mrs. Vang enjoyed being a farm wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Harriet is survived by two daughters, Debra Vang of Ensign and Pamela Tinsley and husband Alan of Amarillo, TX; one sister, Roselee Estep of Pueblo, CO; three granddaughters, Nanna Fisher, Amy Smith, and Staci Bray; one grandson, Nathan Vang and wife Maria; 7 great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and two sisters.
Graveside funeral service will be held at Johnson Cemetery in rural Gray County on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 12:00 - 8:00 P.M.. Memorials are suggested to Harriet Vang Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
