Obituary

Dodge City - Harry Lindbergh Peterson, 90, died January 17, 2014 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains in Dodge City. He was born on July 15, 1923 in Hodgeman County, the son of Henry and Myrtle (Smith) Peterson.

Harry attended Rocky Point Country School. He married Audrey Diehl on July 15, 1943 at Larned. He was a veteran of W.W. II serving in the Army in the European Theatre. After his discharge he moved to Dodge City and worked at different jobs until retiring in 1988.

He was a member of the Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. of Dodge City.

Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife, Audrey Peterson of Dodge City; three daughters, Nancy Jo Browne of Dodge City, Judy Byer of Cimarron, and Susan Bristor of Dodge City; two sons, Dennis Peterson and Darrel Peterson of Dodge City; one sister, Ethel Peterson of Dodge City; one brother, Norman Peterson of Dodge City; 11 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brother, two sisters, and two grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Richard Koehn presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City with military rites by Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. and KSARNG Military Honors. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 12:00 - 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Prairie in care of the funeral home.
