Harvey "Doc" Fredrick Holladay, 84, died Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City. He was born on January 5, 1926 in Wright, the son of Alfred Earl and Frances Philamenia (Pinney) Holladay.

Harvey grew up on the family farm north of Wright and attended school there. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a clerk until his retirement. After he retired, he moved to Dodge City where he was rancher.

He was a member of Boy Scouts of America.

Mr. Holladay is survived by one son, Darwin Derr and wife Cindy of Dodge City; one grandson, Daniel Derr of Grand Island, Nebraska; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Crystal Thelander; and one brother, Harley Holladay.

A private service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
