Obituary

Dodge City - Heidi Renee Moote, 46, died May 30, 2025 at her home in Dodge City.  She was born on May 7, 1979 at Ulysses, Kansas the daughter of Jim and Pam (Armstrong) Moote.

Heidi grew up in Rozel and was a graduate of Pawnee Heights High School. She had her CNA license. Heidi owned and operated a daycare for many years. She also was a volunteer and bartender at the GI Forum in Dodge City. Heidi loved spending time with her family and was an avid billiards player. She loved to help her family and friends whenever they needed her. She loved to watch KU basketball.

She was a member of the GI Forum of Dodge City.

Heidi is survived by her companion Corey Schroeder of Dodge City, three children, Trace Baker and wife Abbie of Curtis, Nebraska, Skyler and Jaycee Schroeder of Dodge City, Cody and Daytona Schroeder of Wichita, Jerrica and Callie Schroeder of Hutchison; two grandsons, Wesley Baker and Ivan Sanchez; mother, Pam Taylor and husband Edward Taylor of Rozel; four brothers, Justin Moote of Shedd, Oregon, Jeremy Moote of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Austin Taylor of Rozel, and Nick Taylor of Burdett; and sister, Jessica Hendrickson of Jetmore; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends. She was a god mother to Lilah Armstrong and a caregiver for many of her daycare kids. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Moote. Grandparents Bill and Wanda Moote and Earl and Patricia Armstrong.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Dodge City. Book signing will be on Friday, June 20, 2025 from Noon to 5:00 PM at Swaim Funeral Chapel. Family and friends can gather at I Don't Care Family Restaurant after the service from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Heidi Moote Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
