Ensign - Helen Louise Foote, 72, passed away on August 8, 2024 at St. Catherine's Hospital, Dodge City. She was born on February 1, 1952 in Bedford, Indiana the daughter of William Z. and Nellie P. (Cottrell) Sheetz.

She worked in housekeeping at the Fort Dodge Kansas Soldiers Home for many years. Helen loved her grandkids; spending time with them was the highlight of her day. She also loved her pets, both dogs and cats. She loved being on Facebook watching videos, especially cooking videos as she loved to cook. She was often sending new recipes to her kids.

She was a member of the First Church of God in Christ of Dodge City.

Helen is survived by her loving husband, Arthur Foote of Ensign; children, Tyrone Andrews (Marie) of Pueblo, CO, Maurice Andrews (Alisia) of Dodge City, Luther Foote of Ensign, and Rachel Hessman (Adam) of Dodge City; siblings, Glena Collingsworth (Jeff) of Bedford, IN, and Roger Sheetz of Wichita; many grandkids, great grandkids, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Nick Andrews; and a brother, Wayne Sheetz.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Saturday August 17, 2024 at 10:00 AM with Scott Tilley presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 16, 2024 from noon to 8PM.  Memorials are suggested to the First Church of God in Christ in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
