Obituary

DODGE CITY - Herman A. Wolff, 101, died December 30, 2013 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. He was born on July 14, 1912 at Wakenney, the son of Christopher and Ema (Wish) Wolff .

Herman moved to Dodge City in 1946 from Lakin. Mr. Wolff served his country in the US Army during World War II. He was the supreintendant of KDOT for 29 years before retiring. He married Alyce Graham in 1960 she preceded him in death on May 23, 1982. Mr. Wolff was a avid bingo player and enjoyed spending time with his family in his spare time.

He was a member of the Howard Gotschall VFW Post #1714 and the Moose Lodge both of Dodge City.

He is survived by two sons, Denny Wolff of Tucson, Arizona and Wade Wolff of Offerle; one daughter, Wendy Wetzel and husband Harold of Wilroad Gardens; two step daughters, Wileta Burch of Palo Alto, California and Pat Mooney-Shelor of Charleston; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, three brothers and two daughter-in-laws, Bonnie Wolff and Marcie Wolff.

Funeral service will be held at Wilroads Gardens Christian Church on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Burial with full Military Rites by Howard Gotschall VFW Post #1714 and the KSARNG Military Honors will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Howard Gotschall VFW Post #1714 in care of the funeral home.
