H. H. Brown, 83, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at his farm near Ford. He was born on August 8, 1926, north of Bucklin, the son of Hiram H. and Viola (Hensley) Brown.

He graduated from Bucklin High School in 1944. A farmer and rancher, he was a resident of the Ford area for sixty years. He married Arlene Babcock in 1946. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons; Bill Brown and wife Marilyn of Wamego, Wes Brown and wife Debbie of Ford, Mark Brown and wife Donna of Bucklin; two daughters, Sheila Brown of Meade, Judith Brown of Ford; two brothers, Eugene Brown of Dodge City, George Brown of Jetmore; six sisters, Marion Hinck of Hutchinson, Wanda Estes of Minneola, Evelyn Preston of Dodge City, Cora Schmitt of Ontario, Oregon; Joyce Nantz of Vero Beach, Florida; and Eleanor Hawes of Ford; ten grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jack, and two sisters, Helen and Frances.

Graveside service will be held at Ford Cemetery in Ford on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Mr. Heath Ormord presiding. There will be no public visitation. Memorials can be made to Hospice of the Prairie, Dodge City or Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade or to the Bucklin Fire-EMS Station, Bucklin in care of Swaim Funeral Home, 1901 6th Avenue, Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
