DODGE CITY - Hoa Thanh Nguyen, 52, died October 9, 2021 at the Swedish Medical Center, Englewood, Colorado.  He was born on November 24, 1968 at My Tho City, Vietnam the son of Phung Van Nguyen and My Thi Duong.

Hoa moved to the United States in 1992 and went to barber school in Virginia. He moved to Dodge City in 1997 where he owned and operated Men's Haircut Barber Shop for 14 years. Hoa married Shayla Van Nguyen on May 5, 1998 in Vietnam. In 2012 they opened Hot Nails in Dodge City that he and his wife owned and operated.

Hoa is survived by his wife, Van Thu "Shayla" Nguyen of Dodge City; a daughter, Vivien Nguyen of Dodge City, a son, Landon Nguyen of Dodge City; his father, Phung Nguyen of Dodge City; and five brothers, Thuan Nguyen, Thao Nguyen, Eli Nguyen, and Jeremy Nguyen all of Dodge City and Tin Nguyen of Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother, My Thi Duong.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul Trong Le presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
