Cimarron - Ida Fisher , 94 , passed peacefully on April 28, 2023 at Sun Porch of Dodge City. She was born on July 10, 1928 at Cimarron, the daughter of Alex and Debly (Heymour) Salem.
Ida grew up in Cimarron and graduated from Cimarron High School. She lived in Wichita for 10 years where she worked for Koch. Ida also worked for the Forestry, Fish and Game Commission in Pratt. Ida returned to Cimarron where she was a manager at the Cimarron Clinic. In 1967 she married Howard Fisher, Sr at Cimarron.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for 25 years.
Ida is survived by her grandchildren, Jessica Skidmore and Stan Skidmore, II of Renton, Washington; daughter-in-law, Rico Skidmore of Renton, Washington; two sisters, Joy Cosby of Haysville and Zina Hoover of Wichita; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Fisher; a son, Stan Skidmore; nine brothers, Otto, Hesson, Buck, Bill, Collid, Sam, George, Emmett, & Joseph; and two sisters, Lila DeHook and Rosie Simon.
Private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Cimarron Cemetery, Cimarron. There will be no public visitation. Memorials are suggested to MS Research in care of the funeral home. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
