MONTEZUMA - Ira Lee (Buck) Ullom, 84, died November 2, 2017 at Founder's Crest in Wichita.  He was born on February 16, 1933 in Montezuma, the son of Ira B. (Jack) and Sue (Hiser) Ullom.

Buck was a lifetime resident of Montezuma.  He graduated from Montezuma High School in 1953.  Buck served in the United States Army.  On July 18, 1954, he married Marlene Blackwelder.  She preceded him in death on June 29, 2016.  They made their home in Montezuma before moving to Dodge where Buck worked in construction.  In 1962, the family then moved to California.  They returned to Montezuma in 1974 and he began farming.  After their retirement, Buck and Marlene became "snowbirds" spending the winters in Kingsland, Texas.

He was a member of the Montezuma Methodist Church and was a past member of the Masonic Lodge.

Buck is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Ullom of Wichita; two sisters, Marjorie Van Aernum and husband Ronald of Wichita and Kimberly Panzer and husband Garrett of Lakin; stepmother, Willetta Ullom Payne of Lakin; two grandchildren, Jonas Ullom of Oakley and Ginger Bingham of Salina; and six great grandchildren, Conner, DraeVynn, and Jiran Ullom and Ethan, Kiley, and Willow Bingham.  In addition to his wife, Marlene, Buck is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Ron Ullom.

Funeral service will be held at Montezuma United Methodist Church on Wednesday November 8, 2017 at 10:30 AM.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Montezuma with military honors by KSARNG, Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Montezuma on Tuesday November 7 from noon to 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to the Montezuma United Methodist Church or Rivercross Hospice in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
