Obituary

DODGE CITY - Irvin E. Robinson, 93, died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at his farm in Ford County. He was born on December 19, 1916 at Dodge City the son of Irvin W. and Florence (Adams) Robinson.

Irvin was born and raised in rural Ford County. He served in the US Army during WWII in Europe. Irvin was a medic with the 69th infantry division. He was a farmer in Ford County all his life. On May 21, 1946 he married Sally M. Otoupal at York, Nebraska. She preceded him in death on March 22, 2001.

Irvin is survived by three daughters, Mary Hendrix and husband Bill of Golden, Colorado and their children Jenny, Jacob, Robert, and Katie; Susan Dieker and husband Charlie of Topeka and their children Annie and Chris; and Kathy Hornung and husband Denis of Cimarron and their children J.I. Hornung and wife Lindsey, Emily Feldt and husband Scott, and Joe Hornung; two sons, Bill Robinson and wife Donna of Dodge City and their children Cindy Trombley and husband Jim, Jill Weber and husband Ryan, Sharon Erwin and husband Erick, Maggie Robinson and Sara Robinson; Dave Robinson and wife Debi of Dodge City and their children Marquasha, Halle, Josie and Adeline; four great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Doris Robinson of Dodge City. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Funeral mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, 901 Central Ave, on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Ted Skalsky presiding. Burial will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Concord Cemetery in Dodge City. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Howard Gotschall Post #1714, V.F.W.. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from Noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials can be made to Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund or Argus Home Health both in care of the funeral home.
