Obituary

Isaac James Koehn was born November 22, 2023 to us, Rick and Tamra. He surprised us, arriving on his angel brother's first birthday!

He was beautiful, with dark hair and features from both of us. We knew our time with Isaac would be short due to him having the same genetic disorder his brother had. We are so grateful we were able to bring him home. There we made many special memories, soaking in every minute we had with him. We had a time while he acted mostly like a normal baby, which was very precious.

In the early morning of November 24, his genetic disorder poked its ugly head up much more insistently and we needed help desperately, for willingness to let him go. After a prayer, God came very close, and we began the heart ripping process of loving him and watching him fade. When Jesus called Isaac to be with Him in the early hours of November 25, He also lovingly provided a miracle of grace for us to surrender Isaac to His nail scarred hands. Many prayers were prayed for healing by those who love us and Isaac. God has chosen to answer those by working a surrender in our hearts.

Left again with empty arms, broken hearts, and hands held out for grace that we cannot provide for ourselves, are his parents, Rick and Tamra; paternal grandparents Tony and Marsha Koehn, Montezuma; maternal grandparents Vern and Carol Koehn, Texhoma, Oklahoma; aunts and uncles, Sally and husband Ruben Blatz, Montezuma, Brooke and husband Josh Mastre, Soldotna, Alaska, Vance and wife Angela Koehn, Texhoma, Texas, Trent Koehn, Texhoma, Oklahoma, Tara and husband Thomas Unruh of Lobelville, Tennessee, and eight cousins. He joined his older brother, Cyrus and one cousin, Anderson, in Heaven.

Funeral service will be held at Montezuma Mennonite Church on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 4:00 PM with Ministers Charles Schmidt and Kalvin Salsbury presiding.
