Dodge City – Isaias E. Lopez, 77, died April 30, 2021 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.  He was born on July 6, 1943 at San Francisco de Asis, Durango Mexico the son of Francisco and Carmen (Escobar) Lopez.

He married Juana Vidana in December of 1979. Mr. Lopez loved taking care of his lawn, watching soap operas and spending time with his family. He worked as a home builder and miner in Mexico and also served as Mayor of his city for a period of time.

He is survived by his wife Juana Lopez of the home; one daughter Laura Lopez of Dodge City; one son Alexandro Lopez and wife Karime Gallegos of Liberal; two brothers Severino Lopez and Manuel Lopez; four sisters Lola Lopez, Eva Lopez, Lupe Lopez and Rosa Maria Lopez all of Mexico. He is also survived by one grandchild Mia Lopez.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Wednesday May  5, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Juan Espinoza presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to Isaias Lopez Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
