Jack Warren Shultz, of Topeka, KS (formerly of Dodge City, KS), went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Jack was born in Wichita, KS on August 4, 1940.
He married his wife, Janice S. Bertrand, on June 5, 1960. Following graduation from Kansas State University, Jack received his Juris Doctor degree from Washburn University School of Law in 1966. Jack moved with his wife and then two children to Dodge City, Kansas following law school, where he practiced law for over 50 years.
In Dodge City, Jack's life was marked by serving others, whether it be representing his clients at work, helping community members in need, serving on the Dodge City Roundup Rodeo Committee, serving on the Dodge City USD 443 School Board, participating in the local Rotary Club, serving as an adult leader at AWANA, or serving as an Elder at Grace Bible Church and Grace Community Church.
For many years, Jack and Jan worked together at Jack's law practice, where Jan served as receptionist, secretary, scheduler, manager, and overall handler. After 61 years of marriage, Jan preceded Jack in death on July 12, 2021.
Jack delighted in his family and is survived by his son, Chris (Annette) Shultz of Paola, KS; daughter, Melissa (Mark) Robertson of Whitehouse Station, NJ; son, Tim (Melissa) Shultz of Topeka, KS; son, Nathan (Sarah) Shultz of Alexandria, VA; eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Jack's two grandsons, Joshua Robertson and Ryan Shultz, also predeceased him.
Private family memorial service will take place at a later date. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place. Memorials can be made to Aldersgate Village in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel of Dodge City. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guestbook at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
