Jack Wayne Warner, 60, died July 19, 2011 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. He was born on March 6, 1951 in Dodge City, the fourth of five children to John Jacob and Ruby Elinor (Johnson) Warner of the Warner Angus Ranch eight miles north of Wright on Highway 283 along the Sawlog Creek. He attended Wright Elementary, Dodge City Junior High, Dodge City Senior High School, Dodge City Community College and studied architecture at Kansas State University.
Memberships include Jedidiah Smith Muzzle Loaders, National Rifle Association, Ford County Historical Society, and the Dodge City, Ft. Dodge and Cimarron Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association. Jack also ran for elected office as a Libertarian.
Jack is survived by his partner Debra Deines, two sisters, Elaine Pohlmann of Dodge City and Kathleen Long and husband Harvey of Odenton, Maryland; a brother, Kelvin Warner of Dodge City; a sister in law Ann L. Warner of Spearville and 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Willis Benjamin Warner, II.
Funeral services will be held at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Warner Cemetery in Ford County. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, July 22, 2011 from Noon to 8:00 P.M.. Memorials are suggested to Arrowhead West or Hospice Of The Prairie in care of the funeral home.
