Jacquelyn (Jackie) Wright, 79, died July 14, 2017 at her home in Dodge City.  She was born on November 8, 1937 in Burlington and moved to Dodge City as a child.  She was raised by her mother and step-father, Doris (Schneider) and O.W. Speer.

Jackie attended Dodge City schools, graduating from Dodge City Senior High School in 1955.  She continued her education at St. Francis School of Nursing in Wichita, graduating in 1958. Jackie worked at St. Francis Hospital, Oklahoma University Infirmary, and as a nurse for a private practice in Norman.  She married Jimmy L. Wright on October 10, 1959 in Enid, Oklahoma.  He survives.  Jackie enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting, knitting, and painting.

In addition to her husband,  Jim, Jackie is survived by a son, Jeffrey of Dodge City; daughter, Julie of Garden City; grandsons, Jon Graf of Garden City and James Graf of Larned; three great grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; brother, E. Wayne (Butch) Lindsey and wife Carolyn of Cañon City, Colorado.  She is preceded in death by her parents as well as several aunts and uncles.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dick Robbins presiding.  Burial will follow at Silent Land Cemetery in Spearville.  Visitation will be at  Swaim Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, July 18, 2017  from noon to 8:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Prairie in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
