JAMES F. BIRDSELL
Smithville, Missouri - James F. Birdsell, 72, died January 8, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on February 18, 1943 in Jewell County, Kansas, the son of Oscar Vernon and Hazel (Gwendine) Birdsell.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Barbara Birdsell, Smithville, Missouri; four brothers and two sisters, Daniel and Patricia Birdsell, Vicki and Robert Moyer, Louise and Ricky Smith, William and Carol Birdsell, Benjamin Birdsell, Richard and Shari Birdsell, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and five brothers, Roger Eugene, Stephen Bret, Bazil Vernon, Louis Arthur, and Philip Dick Birdsell.
Graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City, on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Darrell Hendrickson presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 5:00 PM til 7:00 PM. The family asks in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to a charity of the donors choice, in care of Swaim Funeral Home,1901 6th Avenue, Dodge City, Kansas, 67801.
