Obituary

Cimarron - James R. "Bob" Day, 80, died August 1, 2018 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.  He was born on March 19, 1938 at Dodge City the son of Clarence Elmer and Florence Ruth (McCollum) Day.

He married Betty Gaul on February 3, 1957 in Dillon, South Carolina. She preceded him in death on November 18, 2002. He was the owner and operator of Bob Day Sandblasting and was also engaged in farming and ranching. Mr. Day enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper from 1956 to 1959.

He was a member of the NRA.

He is survived by his son, Bruce Day of Cimarron; one sister, Zona Anderson of Las Vegas, Nevada; and one granddaughter, Chloe Zielke of Dodge City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, August 10, 2018 at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City.  There is no visitation as cremation has taken place.
