Dodge City - James G. "Jimmy" Grotts, 43, died February 2, 2013 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. He was born on September 29, 1969, at Gardena, California, the son of Phillip B. and Shirley Ann (Rains) Grotts.
Jimmy was a truck driver for many years and later he was an auto glass installer for Discount Glass, Inc. of Dodge City. He loved his work and took pride in his jobs and had a good work ethic. He was very talented in remodeling homes, couldn't tell anyone "No" in anything that was asked of him and he loved his family.
Jimmy is survived by his parents Phillip B. Grotts, Mayer, Arizona and Shirley Ann (Rains) Grotts of Fresno, California; a son Jeremy Grotts, and a daughter Jaimie Grotts both of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Destiny Casanova and Faith Davis; a son, Dylan Casanova; a grandson, a brother Bobby Gilman of Dodge City; four sisters, Jan Zanettini, of Discovery Bay, California, Vicky Adams, Phyliss Garecht and Denise Ciano, all of Fresno, California and many nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Gilman.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life gathering will be held at 4:30 P.M. on Tuesday , February 5, 2013 at the home of Cory Warkentin, 11046 108 Rd., Dodge City, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to James Grotts Memorial Fund in care of Swaim Funeral Home - 1901 Sixth Ave - Dodge City, KS 67801.
