DODGE CITY - James Socorro Rivera, 24, died October 10, 2012 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on September 10, 1988 at Liberal the son of Hector and Jody (Bell) Rivera.

James grew up in Dodge City and was a 2007 graduate of Dodge City High School. He completed his cosmetology degree at Dodge City Community College. After graduating, James worked at Hair Design's and also JC Penny's. He was currently attending Dodge City Community College working on completing his CMA & CNA degrees. James was a case worker at Dodge City Area Mental Health.

He was a member of HD's Thursday Night Dart League in Dodge City.

James is survived by his parents, Hector and Jody Rivera of Dodge City; a daughter, Emily Anahi Rivera of Dodge City; two brothers, Hector Segundo Rivera of Dodge City and Hector Javier Rivera of Liberal.

Memorial mass will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe at 10:00 AM with Fr. Matthias Selemobri celebrating. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
