Coppell, TX - On the evening of November 12, 2021, Jan L. Hiser of Coppell, Texas passed at the age of 72.

Jan was the daughter of Georganne and Arthur B. Hiser and born in Beaumont, Texas in 1949.  At age 12, Jan moved overseas with her family to Australia for 5 years. She returned to Beaumont, Texas, where she graduated from French High School in 1967.

After graduation she attended Kansas State University for a number of years before finding her love for accounting.  She earned her Masters in Accounting from Kansas Newman in Wichita. Jan then worked for Mobil Oil Corporation in Dallas, Texas, where she set up permanent residence. While working she continued her studies earning an additional degree, Masters of Business Administration from the University of  North Texas in Denton.  In 2001, She took early retirement so she could work her own schedule. This included doing taxes for individuals and small business accounting and administration for a variety of area firms.

Jan was an avid knitter and weaver, in addition to showering friends and family with her creations she knit prayer shawls for those in need.  With her strong background in math, she also after school, tutored several gifted students in their advanced classes.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Georganne. She is survived by her siblings. Daniel, David, and Jillian, her niece, Jennifer and her nephew, Joshua.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM.  Burial will follow at the Ford Cemetery in Ford.  Book signing will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from Noon to 5:00 PM.
