Sublette - Jan Franklin, 83, passed away on April 3, 2021 in Georgetown, Texas, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on February 12, 1938 in Medicine Lodge, the daughter of Max and Elsie (Kuhn) Shaw.

Jan spent her childhood in Medicine Lodge where she attended school. She went on to further her education and attended Fort Hays State University. Not long after college, she married Burt McKinley and they moved to Hugoton, where they lived for two years before moving to Sublette where they raised three boys.

Burt and Jan divorced in 1986. Jan worked at the bank in Sublette for several years, then decided to make the move to a retirement community of Sun City in Georgetown, Texas. While living there, she met Bob Franklin. The two were married in 2001. We want to thank Bob for the very loving care of our mother at the end. She will be missed by many family and friends.

Jan is survived by her husband, Bob Franklin; three sons, Mike McKinley and wife Jackie, Casey McKinley and wife Denise, and Kerry McKinley and wife Dawn; and five grandchildren, Ann, Rebecca, Kristine, Megan and Katie.

Cremation has taken place and a private burial will take place at a later date at Haskell County Cemetery in Sublette. Swaim Funeral Chapel in Sublette assisted the family with arrangements. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
