Obituary

MONTEZUMA - Our dear mother and grandmother, Ida Jane (Nowell) Moore, was born on August 25, 1936 in Tularosa, New Mexico, and passed away on January 30, 2015 at the Shepherds Center in Cimarron, at the age of 78.

Jane was born to Leon and Mary (Watson) Nowell and grew up in Tularosa. She was the first of 6 children born to Leon and Mary, and helped take of her younger siblings while growing up. Jane was a graduate of Tularosa High School, where she was a drummer in the band. Later in life, she also completed her Associates Degree at Hutchinson Community College, and worked for many years at Farmer's Alliance Insurance Company in McPherson.

On October 18, 1954, Jane was married to Jerry Alan Moore at Tularosa. Their union was blessed with 6 children. She was a homemaker and took immense pride in her family. Always known as a very loving and gracious woman, she enjoyed taking care of those around her. Jane spent many hours alongside her husband Jerry tending to their very large garden to provide for their family. She also enjoyed knitting slippers for all of her children and grandchildren. But first and foremost in her life was her love and devotion to Jesus and ministry. Her husband Jerry was a minister for most of their married life, and she took very seriously the role of a minister's wife. She always carried her Bible with her wherever she went and enjoyed reading the Scriptures.

After the passing of her husband, Jane spent some time with each of her children before making her home at the Shepherd's Center in Cimarron. She truly loved her time there and the many loving and caring individuals that took wonderful care of her for the past 7 years. She greeted everyone with a smile, her Bible was her constant companion, and she enjoyed watching the Hallmark channel in her room.

Those left to cherish fond memories of her are her six children; Tim Moore and wife Colette of Wolfforth, Texas, Kathy Koehn and husband Bob of Montezuma, Dan Moore and wife Cheri of La Luz, New Mexico, Debbie Harman and husband John of Gold Canyon, Arizona, David Moore of Montezuma, and Sara Bivens and husband Bryce of Chillicothe, Ohio; her 19 grandchildren; Danielle (Matt) Lilley, Crystal (Brent) Long, Josh Koehn, Lisa (Daniel) Berg, Brett Moore, Garet Moore, Shannon (Jeff) Parke, Stacie (Keith) Niemann, Jeni (Greg) Hoffman, Jeremy Moore, Jaydin Moore, Devin Moore, Cameron Parker, Rylan Hansen, Kaidyn Moore, Aubrey Koehn, Kaitlyn Esquibel, Ashley Bivens, Jessica Bivens; her 16 great-grandchildren; Brock, Macie, & Madison Lilley, Brynn & Bryson Long, Rylee Berg, Brett & Lexie Parke, Nathan, Hunter & Braden Niemann, Colton & Kinsey Hoffman, Braxton Moore, Junior & Mia Koehn; her two sisters, Joyce Yearly of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Evelyn Webb of Tularosa, New Mexico; one brother Virgil Nowell of Mesa, Arizona; and many other relatives and friends. Loved ones preceding her in death are her parents, two sisters, and her loving husband Jerry.

Funeral service will be held at Gospel Fellowship Church in Montezuma on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 10:30 AM with Mr. David Johnson presiding.
