Jane "Althea" White, aged 90 passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, in Dodge City, Kansas. She will be remembered fondly for her devotion as a mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, and for the many talents she shared with those around her. Born on August 27, 1935, in Jetmore, Kansas, she was the daughter of Harry Oliver and Helen Katherine (Lonnberg) York. On August 23, 1958, the married David White together, they made their home on the Farm in Sodville Township Kingsdown, Kansas, raising their four children. Also received the Master Farmer and Homemaker award. David died in 1991.
Althea attended Sterling College and obtained her teaching certificate, and taught 2 nd grade in Jetmore, and Scott city. Later she earned a EMT and taught CPR classes. She loved the Arts; playing the viola and piano; oil painting, charcoal and pastel, sketching, crocheting, sewing, cooking and other arts and crafts
Involved in the Church, and community in many clubs: Extension Unit, 4-H club leader, Farm Bureau Board, Dodge City Community College Board of Trustees. Republican Womens Chair. Pairs & Squares, squares dance club. Because club.
Also enjoyed, Auctions, collecting cookbooks, reading, clowning and beard judging for community celebrations and parades.
She is survived by daughters, Kelli White of Dodge city, Kathi (Shawn Rohr) of Phoenix, Az Son Kurt White of Wichita; grandchildren Jake Kambourian, Laura , Alison Kambourian, Trace Press, Stephany Klatt, Darryn Rohr, Davilyn McArthur, Jonathan Rohr, 7 great-grandchildren. Brother Floyd (Chris) York sister-in-law Maxine York brother-in-law Richard Russell all of Dodge City. sister-in-law Norma White of Albuquerque, NM.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband David White, daughter Kim Kambourian, siblings Jim York, Sharon Russell.
Memorials are suggested to Ford County 4-H foundation, or Kingsdown Presbyterian Church in care of Swaim Funeral home.
Memorial Service will be held at Kingsdown Presbyterian Church in Kingsdown with Rev. Kevin Salzman officiating. Graveside Service will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.
