Dodge City - Janet Schuler, 80, died November 15, 2024 at Manor of the Plains in Dodge City, Kansas. She was born on July 25, 1944 at Tulsa, Oklahoma the daughter of James and Ruth (Townsend) Rosson.
She married Richard Schuler on July 1, 1983 in Dodge City, he preceded her in death on February 23, 2005. Janet worked as a music teacher for USD #443 for 54 years before retiring. She loved teaching music to the students at Lincoln, Linn, Wilroads Garden Schools and taught a couple of years for the Mullinville School District as well. Janet was a very active member of Abundant Life Family Church.
She was a member of the Abundant Life Family Church of Dodge City and the Sweet Adeline's of Dodge City.
She is survived by her two brothers Jay Rosson and Jim Rosson both of Ft. Collins, Colorado, one Step Daughter Julie Hebert and husband Rick of Dodge City, one Step Son Mike Schuler of Dodge City grandchildren Monica Kremer, Dylan Hartnett, Keith Williams, Tyler Williams, Anthony Williams and one great grandson Carver Williams. She is also survived by one niece and one nephew and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Jere Rosson and one stepdaughter Cindy Brown.
Memorial service will be held at Abundant Life Family Church on Monday December 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM with Dr. Jim Ames and Pastor Lydia Ames presiding. Inurnment will follow at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Ft. Dodge. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
